Bond County Museum

The Bond County Historical Society’s Bond County Museum provides visitors with a glimpse of the county’s proud 200-year heritage. Located in a three-story turreted home built in 1900, the north parlor has Victorian period furnishings including an 1840s piano from the founders of Almira College; the reading room features the Civil War. Other rooms contain a wide variety of rotating exhibits that tell the story of Bond County’s people, architecture, and industry. Historical exhibits are changed and updated each year making for a vibrant, relevant museum. The grounds host an annual pie and ice cream social in late June featuring the Greenville Municipal Band. The museum is open on Saturdays from 10 am-Noon (January - December); Sundays 1 - 3 pm (June, July, and August). Call or email to arrange a guided tour, or special group tour, or to visit during non-posted hours. Come on out and enjoy all the memories, antiquity, and tradition Bond County has to offer.  Admission by donation.
