Boating at Patriots Park

Boats may be put on the Lake at Patriot's Park, only if they are trolling motors. A boat with a larger motor may enter the lake, as long as the larger motor does not touch the water. A permit is required to launch any watercraft (boat, kayak, etc) at the lake.  Permits are issued at our office located at 630 East City Route 40, Greenville, IL 62246.  A watercraft registration card is required or we can visually see the watercraft ID Numbers on your boat.  You may also mail a copy of your watercraft registration card and payment to PO Box 462, Greenville, IL and we will mail you your permit.

Free Shelter Policy

The Kingsbury park district will waive one (1) shelter reservation a year for a youth based organization or a Kingsbury Coach who wishes to have a team party.

Petition Policy

The Kingsbury Park District Petition policy is for those children one grade level younger than their age suggests. This policy allows these children to play team sports with other children in their same grade, not their age. In order to qualify for the Petition Policy, the child must be in the grade for the listed activity, and be within ONE YEAR of the maximum age range for that activity.

Rain out Policy

The Kingsbury Park District will NEVER decide on a rain out before 3:00 pm. We will follow this procedure in notifying everyone of rain outs:

1. We will contact the coaches. Please refrain from contacting the coaches concerning rain outs.     They will notify you as so as they hear.

2. We will post the cancellations on the Districts Facebook Page.

3. We will post the cancellation to the Home page of our website.

4. We will call WGEL, and they will make an announcement regarding the cancellations.

5. We will record a voicemail message on the answering machine at the office.

Please refrain from calling the office unless you have no other option. Often times we are unable to call the radio station or record a new message due to the abundance of incoming calls. It is easiest for all of us, if you check the App, the Facebook page, or the website before contacting the park district or the coach.

Swimming at Patriots Park

There is no longer swimming allowed at Patriot's Park.

Weddings at Patriots Park

To hold a wedding at the park, we recommend that you reserve all four pavilions for the day of the event.  Because Patriot’s Park is a public facility, it is impossible to prohibit the general public from using the park on the day of your wedding.  However, reserving all of the pavilions will help to insure that the noise and activity of another event will not disturb your ceremony.  If you are reserving Patriot’s Park to hold a wedding, please note you are reserving the Shelters ONLY. Your reservation will not close the park to the public. Please Note this means there may be people not invited to your event, on the Lake, Play ground, Boat Ramp, Walking Trails, etc.   If you are planning to hire a professional service of any kind (DJ, tent setup, catering, etc.), each company hired will need to provide the park district a certificate of insurance naming the Kingsbury Park District as “additional insured.”

All policies regarding shelter rentals apply to weddings as well.

Shelter Rental Policy

All rental applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis. All fees and security deposits must be paid with the submittal of the rental application. Dates may be tentatively reserved by the calling or stopping by the Park District office. In order to CONFIRM a reservation date, however, the reservation fee must be paid and a signed agreement submitted within seven (7) days, of the original request being made. If either payment or the agreement is not received within seven (7) days from the day of the original request, the reservation will be cancelled immediately and without further notice. No substitute dates will be offered. The Kingsbury Park District reserves the right to refuse the use of any of it's facilities to anyone. If a scheduled event at any park is open to the public, a Certificate of Insurance naming the Kingsbury Park District as "Additionally Insured," is required.  Alcoholic beverages are not permitted within the parks. Applicants who wish to rent the Jaycee Shelter on a Sunday may request the use of one of the ball fields.  This request must be made at the time the shelter is reserved. Any request to close the gates on Dewey Street is subject to permission from the Park District.  A key will be issued to the requestor for the gate locks, and a $25.00 deposit is required.  This deposit will be fully refunded when the key is returned. The gate lock key must be returned on the next business day after the event.  If not, the deposit will be forfeited.  The requestor assumes responsibility for closing and properly securing the gates before the event and opening and properly securing them afterward.

Bounce House Policy

Persons wishing to have bounce houses on Kingsbury Park District property must first inform the KPD of their intentions.  The bounce house location must be approved by the KPD Staff.  Bounce house companies must provide a certificate of insurance to the park district naming the park district as additionally insured.  Failure to do so will result in loss of bounce house privileges on park district property.  There is a $25.00 fee for bounce houses.
